Richard & Vanessa
1. What should I do if I have a problem?
The fastest way to get a hold of us is by email or text as we are often unable to answer the phone. We check our messages frequently and will get back to you promptly.
2. How much privacy will I have?
Your bach, apartment or glampsite is entirely yours for the duration of your stay. That means that your bach is your home so help yourself to anything you find, pick herbs and put your feet up.
3. Will I meet my hosts?
We value your privacy so we don't come knocking. If you are staying at Driftwood we are usually around when not escaping ourselves and if you'd like to catch up, do let us know! At Tapuaetahi, look out for us in the bay on Barefoot, our yacht. Someone is always on hand if you need anything or there is a problem.
4. What does 'self check in' actually mean?
It means your cottage will be open and ready from 3pm for you to let yourselves in and start enjoying your holiday. Driftwood does not have a front desk and we often keep things running from our mobiles while travelling. We do live on-site but we are travellers too and may be away on adventures of our own.
5. Will you put the heater on for us?
Absolutely! Let us know your ETA and someone will pop the heaters on so you arrive to a toasty warm, cosy bach escape with side lights on.
6. What is the difference between The Bach & The Hammock?
They are the same studio design and layout, with Nespresso, WiFi & Wallace Cotton sheets. The Bach is slightly more rustic with a simple bach kitchen and is more private, perched high on the hill so it has bigger seaviews. The Hammock is the more luxurious of the two with a full kitchen and bigger TV with Blue Ray Home Theatre and is much closer to the sea with more intimate sea views. There is capacity for a cot bed for a small child in The Bach but not The Hammock.
7. Do you discount for longer stays?
Off season when we are travelling (May thru' Sept) we are happy to chat about weekly or monthly rates. We do not discount in the summer months but can sweeten longer stays with larder treats and wine!
8. What is your pet policy?
As animal lovers ourselves, we understand how difficult it can be to travel with your pooch. All Driftwood accommodation is pet friendly, we ask that you please enquire first. For hairy or swimming pets we charge a deep clean fee of $60 which we are happy to waive for one night stays or outside dogs. Please be aware that there are Kiwi, horses, stock and/or other dogs at all of our Driftwood locations and do not allow your dog to wander.
